AA917 Bandit Queen (50) aka: Zorros Tochter  aka: La figlia di Zorro   Colorized!   A greedy sheriff and his henchman are confronted by the whip-wielding daughter (Barbara Britton) of their robbed and murdered victims along with her fellow up risers, vigilantes all, who bring a Robin-Hooded/Zorro mentality to their way of vengeance.   They will get the stolen gold back to the original owners and make the sheriff and his men pay a deadly price.   Angelo Rossito is amusing as 'Nino'.    New Color Version!  BA

AA813 Creature from Galaxy 27, The (58) Colorized version of 'Night of the Blood Beast', so we will distinguish this with one of the alternate titles.   This Colorized Edition of the classic science fiction was liking watching another movie entirely.   Dashes of genius throughout, many themes explored in bigger, better pictures, much later.   See catalogue for more on this film.   BA

AA802 Devil's Partner, The (60) Colorized, and all the better for it!  You won't believe the details you may have missed before.   An old man trades his soul to Satan in exchange for youth.   Once he is young, he uses the dark arts to woo a woman.   He can now shape shift, and uses animal form to carry out his various misdeeds.   One effective scare involves a black stallion in the night, chasing a wino and then trampling him to death.   The devil gets his due.   Ed Nelson, Edgar Buchanan, Richard Crane and Jean Allison star.   BA

AA877 Gaslight Follies (45) Chaptered sections from the silent screen of the teens and twenties.   First, a parade of close-up shots of dozens of silent-era film stars.   Next up a compilation of about a dozen newsreel items through Babe Ruth's early days.   A filmed Victorian stage drama.   More.  

AA913 Ivan the Terrible: Part One (44) aka:  Ivan Groznyy   Ivan the Terrible, first Czar of Russia, seeks to unite the people of Russia.   Ivan faces treachery from within as he is betrayed by even the closest of his friends, and the power structure that is the aristocracy.   Ivan the Terrible was commissioned by the Soviet government to glorify a dead dictator who was respected by Stalin.   The film in two parts is epic stuff.   The third part was never filmed after a falling out with the director Sergei Eisenstein and Stalin.   Russian with English subtitles  BA

AA914 Ivan the Terrible, The Boyar's Plot Part Two (46) aka: Ivan Groznyy.  Skaz vtoroy: Boyarskiy zagovor  aka: La congiura dei boiardi   Ivan the Terrible continues his reign as he consolidates power establishing his personal army, his political rivals, the Russian Boyer's and the plot to assassinate their Emperor (or Tsar if you prefer).   Just like a Wagnerian opera the film is full of symbolism, but this is no opera.   Because of the death of his wife, Stalin becomes more cruel and dangerous.   The film made Stalin angry, and it was banned in Russia until five years after Stalin's death.   The director Sergei Eisenstein would die at age 49 in 1948, Moscow.   Heart attack?  Sure.   The film switches to color tinting in the final reel.   Russian with English subtitles.   BA

AA901 King of the Zombies (41) Colorized!  aka: Le roi des zombies   One spooky motion picture filmed in black white, now lightened up some and in color.   I felt like I was watching an all new lost horror film.   A plane crash on a jungle island leaves three men stranded, one of them being the great Mantan Moreland, who also provides the comic relief.   This is the island of the dead, where a German mad scientist is turning the natives into zombies.   Mantan Moreland is the real star of the picture, with some really funny lines and mannerisms.   The finale is as fantastic a setting as you will see in a low-budget 40's chiller.   I walked with a zombie!   BA

AA866 Monsters from the Moon (53) aka: Robot Monster   In Color!  Originally filmed in 3-D black and white.   This is the 2-D version and now colorized.   Only six people on planet earth remain alive after the dreaded Ro-Man (played by an actor in a cheap gorilla suit topped by a diving helmet) has destroyed the living.   Ro-man is dedicated to finishing the others off, bringing the age of humans to an end for good.   But complications arise!  Special effects include soap bubbles to deliver....   ambiance!  In the opening minutes, some dinosaur stock footage from two dinosaur films, especially interesting in color.   BA

AA787 Red Snow (52)  A U.S.  Air Force pilot and native Eskimos help foil a Soviet plot to test a new secret weapon...   Guy Madison, Mala Matthews and Gloria Saunders star.   Upgrade of this impressive action film, listed before as #999.   See catalog.   BA

AA919 Attack From Space (65) Colorized!  aka: Super Giant Vs the Satellites   Wacky science fiction from Japan!  Featuring a Death Star and a planet destroying weapon.   Starman movies are cobbled together from episodes of Japanese science fiction television shows.   Starman is sent to stop the aliens from destroying the Earth.   Like Superman, Starman is unstoppable.   He is more acrobatic, and of course flies.   His outfit is very tight in the crotch, I think he needs a cod piece, some type of groin guard.   Looking too exposed there guy.   The film is like a new film with the Colorization.   Starman doesn't fly away at the end, he floats.   BA

AA766 Daigoro vs.  Goliath (71) aka: Struggle of the Monsters  aka: Kaijû daifunsen: Daigorou tai Goriasu    Finally English subtitles on this Japanese monster classic!  Big goofy monster Daigoro has been orphaned after the military destroyed his mother.   Daigoro is being fed an anti-growth drug, not trusted to grow any bigger because he is a threat to the people.   Of course, he is already hundreds of feet tall!  They shrink him!   Now, Goliath has come to earth.   We need Daigoro at full strength (and back to his gigantic self!) to defeat Goliath!  Bring it Goliath!  Great rubber monsters and fantastic miniatures to be stomped!  English subtitles  BA

AA897 Daimajin (66) aka: Majin the Hideous Idol   Japan's answer to 'The Golem' of the Jewish people.   A samurai lord is murdered and an evil man takes the throne.   The children of the samurai lord escape and take up residence in the mountains next to a huge stone statue called Daimajin, a God feared by all.   Ten years pass.   The tyrant has destroyed the entire valley and enslaved all of the people.   Finally, the great Daimajin rises to set things right.   Time for miniatures to be trampled underfoot.   Fairly dark, grim and violent.   A wonderful childhood memory.    Widescreen  In Japanese with English subtitles  BA

AA934 Jacob: The Man Who Fought with God (63) aka: Giacobbe, l'uomo che lottò con Dio  Hate to go Old Testament on you, but here we go.   Bits and pieces assembled from the old Testament including Abraham nearly sacrificing his son on the altar until God stays his knife wielding hand.   Yea, uh, thanks?  Moving on to the story of Jacob and his trials and tribulations in his quest to lead his people back into Canaan.   English dubbed  BA

AA831 Princess Jasnenka and the Flying Shoemaker (87) aka: O princezne Jasnence a létajícím sevci  Locked away in the tower of the royal castle by her father to protect her from an evil witch, Jasenka, waits for her liberation, which arrives in the form of a young cobbler, who has fashioned leather wings with hand controls that make them flap.   There he goes, flying across the Czechoslovakian countryside, castle tower bound.   Only beauty can blind a man so.   The witch and her gnarly minions devise a plan of their own.   Expensive looking fairy tale/fantasy production.   Czech with English subtitles

AA898 Return of Daimajin (66) aka: Daimajin ikaru   Visually spectacular, an extension (almost remake) of the previous film 'Daimajin' from the same year.   The fifty foot stone statue Daimajin (a sort of Japanese Jesus, but capable of extreme violence) is once again enraged and has to destroy!  Daimajin usually sits peacefully with a gentle face.   But when he gets angry, Daimajin gets real ugly, a ferocious expression.   There are also sword fights between the people in usual medieval Japan fashion.   Daimajin will destroy those who have hurt his worshippers, and finish off the diabolical warlord in much the same fashion as the first film.    Widescreen  Japanese with English subtitles  BA

AA849 Seven Tasks of Ali Baba, The (62) aka: Le 7 fatiche di Alì Babà  aka: Les nouvelles aventures d'Ali Baba   Ali Baba is tasked by a wizard to transport a sacred crown.   This crown is the key to overthrow the resident tyrant of the lands.   Iranian muscle man Iloosh Khosh continues his short (but memorable) stint in Italian genre films this time starring as Ali Baba under his 'Rod Flash' pseudonym.   Also starring as the love interest the sexy Cuban born Bella Cortez (another beauty lost in time) and Salvatore Furnai (the dwarf in many a sword and sandal).   What do you get when you cross an Iranian, a Cuban and a Dwarf? 'Seven Tasks of Ali Baba'!   Longer than other versions!  BA

AA962 Sheriff and the Satellite Kid (79) aka: Uno sceriffo extraterrestre...  poco extra e molto terrestre   A young alien in the form of a little kid, who has supernatural powers and can talk to animals, teams up with the grizzled and grumpy sheriff Hall (Bud Spencer) when the military want to kidnap the boy (the alien, the kid E.T.).   Wacky slapstick fun with an Italian cast (including Raimund Harmstorf) and filmed in Georgia, America.   They made a sequel to this!  English Dub Full Frame   Upgrade!  BA

AA899 Wrath of Daimajin (66) aka: Daimajin gyakushû   aka: Daimajin Strikes Again   All three of the Daimajin's were filmed back-to-back.   This time yet another evil warlord has kidnapped men to be slaves, producing gunpowder from his sulfur pits.   He also has blown Daimajin, the stone god statue, sky high.   The children of the kidnapped men set out to rescue them.   Here in this fantastic fantasy film there dwells a samurai film of clashing villages as well.   Finally, the newly enraged Daimajin rises when an innocent woman is tied up crucifixion styled with a fire beneath her.   Her prayers put out the fire, and Daimajin rises and begins to terminate the evil ones, burning the bad guy the same way the woman had been fated.   Widescreen  In Japanese with English subtitles   BA

AA891 Wrath of the Ninja: The Yotoden Movie (89) Anime.    Unholy armies slay across the lands of 1580 Japan, sent by an evil warlord monster to fulfill his nefarious plans of conquest and domination.   Three magical swords from three different clans must be used together to defeat the reign of the wicked ruler.   The story revolves around battles, revenge, death and sword fights, devoid of humor for a change.   The monsters are cool, the animation (especially the ninja hack and slashing), very good.   BA

AA960 Again the Ringer (65) aka: Neues vom Hexer  The Ringer's calling card has been left on the corpse of a man the Ringer has nothing to do with in this sequel shot nine months after the first film using much of the same cast.   Members of an aristocratic family are being eliminated one-by-on by another crimson cult.   Klaus Kinski is the mysterious butler (with a beard) who handles many dirty deeds.   In one scene Der Hexer/The Magician aka: The Ringer disguises himself as a judge in court.   Barbara Rutting, Brigitte Horney and Margot Trooger also star.   Full Frame  German with English subtitles  BA

AA961 Traitor's Gate (64) aka: Das Verrätertor   The Tower of London houses the Crown Jewels.   The caper/heist is assembled.   Adapted for the screen by Jimmy Sangster from the Edgar Wallace novel, wickedly, sometimes violently.   Solidly fast-paced with Klaus Kinski once again stealing the show, this time as a determined killer with a heart of ice.   Also starring Catherine Schell and Margot Trooger.   Directed by Freddie Francis.    Full Frame  German with English subtitles  BA

AA879 Beauty School (93) A competition between two beauty school's turns into one of the sexiest contests on record.   What won't they do to win?  Hopefully, nothing.   The film is a mixture of silly shenanigans on the sexy side.   After dark watchers in the early 90's may remember this sexploitation.   Sylvia Kristel, J.J.  North, Veronica Hart (as the ‘Countess') and hot saucy babes galore.  

AA861 C'mon Baby Light My Fire (69) Anti-drug crusader June (Tina Buckley) is kidnapped by a vice lord who will go to any lengths to oppose legalization of marijuana.   The plan is to turn June into a nymphomaniac, filming her in compromising sexual situations so he can blame marijuana.   Plenty of moaning and groaning from Tina, who goes from 'Please...   Stop!' to 'Please Don't Stop!' faster than you cay say 'Wam-Bam'!  Kidnapping, Drugs and Sexual Assault.   The kicks of 1969 making the whole thing erotic.   Tina Buckley would go on to ...   a street corner presumably.  

AA782 Country Girl (68) Out in the sticks lives country gal Marie and her 'old man'.   Together they run a fishing operation with the added camping bonus.   Marie is anxious to get boned by just about any man and we soon realize these are swinger types once the booze starts to flow and the wife-swapper plot unfolds.   Of course, the dirty dialogue gives us a chuckle as we head into redneck paradise.   Sordid tasteless fun.   BA

AA916 Documentary of a Madam (69) Listed incorrectly before, this is the tale of a Madam (played by the busty Marsha Jordan) and her recollections as she is the resident Madam of a Reno, Nevada brothel called 'Puss and Boots'.   Mainly though, soft core shenanigans with clients.   This is not the elusive 'House Near the Prado' a film this was mistaken as being before.   If this tripped anyone up, we owe you a free title.  

AA873 Enrapture (89) Ona Zee (as the duplicitous Chase Webb) stars in this crime thriller directed by Chuck Vincent and also starring more porn actors.   A chauffeur/struggling actor named Keith (Kevin Thomsen) works for 'the family'.   When he is seduced by the salacious Chase Web, she turns up dead.   Keith finds himself in hot water.   Surprise twists? Also with Tracey Adams, Jamie Gillis, Veronica Hart and more.   This would be one of the last (he did one more) films directed by Chuck Vincent before his death from AIDS in 1991.    BA

AA807 French Honeymoon, A (64) Color!  On his honeymoon, a fake mustached British chubby man named Archibald, ignores his sleeping French Sex Kitten of a wife and instead fantasizes about various naked ladies.    We see his naked fantasies, each girl more beautiful than the last.   Color!

AA906 Fuego (69) aka: Fire  aka: Conoscenza carnale di una ninfomane   Isabel Sarli classic!  Laura (Sarli) just can't get no satisfaction from any man or woman.   Laura is a nymphomaniac and has to have it now!  You could almost call this a South American version of Russ Meyer's 'Vixen', both depicting the sexual adventures of an insatiable woman.   Laura's hilariously compulsive infidelities are bursting with energy, torrid, overwrought and Argentina Hot!  The film is like a runaway train as Laura's road to hell goes off the rails in tragedy.    English Dubbed   BA

AA956 In Search of...   the Perfect '10' (86)  An important hour, college campus training material for 2025.   These girls from 1986 are almost another species.   Now join your host and his trusty Mam-O-Meter (quite possibly the world's 'greatest' invention), as the search begins.   One lovely lady after another is just happy as can be to strip naked and be ogled by men below their station.   Then, the number is revealed on the screen.   Go on, pause the screen before the number is revealed, and by all means vote!  Crude, obnoxious, politically incorrect, sexist, misogynistic...   all of this and more.   Makes for an hour fun.   Some of the naked stars are actually porn stars, some are not.   Blondi, Gail Thackray, Michelle Bauer, Krista Lane, Rachel Ryan and more star.   Mam-O-Mam! 

AA948 International Smorgas-Broad (64) A gourmet chef looks at food and is inspired by topless women in seemingly endless visions of mental delight.   His obsession becomes eye-candy for the viewer as we are bombarded with naked butts and bosoms.   He clocks in and the show begins! 

AA768 Moglie nuda e Siciliana (78) aka: Naked Sicilian Wife   Andrea Bianchi directed this sexploitation/comedy right before his next two films (Malabimba and Burial Ground) about Rosalia (Christiana Borghi) a beautiful but naive Sicilian girl who moves to Milan and has amorous adventures along with her friend Sandra (Maria Pia Conte).   Sort of.   Also starring Mariangela Giordano.   Full frontal fun.   In Italian language only with no subtitles.  

AA939 Nudist Life (61) Some of the early reels are of the National Geographic persuasion.   Thankfully we switch to Florida.   The gimmick is that busty models are mixed in with (possibly) unaware sun -addicted beach goers.   Plenty of nipples are ogled, and you get to comment, objectify and judge.   This is exactly what the filmmakers intended.   Thanks!

AA880 Pleasure in Paradise (91) Delicious sexy sisters in a sordid tale of seduction, betrayal, steamy passion and misguided romance.   A playful erotic thriller that generously displays the female form, and features a sexy lacy lingerie show at the Paradise Bar.   Hot soft-core sex.   Honey Lauren and more star.  

AA940 Sex Appeal (86) Chuck Vincent directs and once again the porn star actors looking perfect are the main draw.   We follow Tony (Louie Bonnano) as he uses a book on 'sex appeal' to peddle himself to the ladies.   The girls do come.   His landlord spies and starts a book on Tony, the Casanova!  Truth be told it is one thing to get the girl in your apartment, another entirely to score and satisfy her.   Tony is his own sabotage.   This is not a hardcore film, but an exploitation film.   Gloria Leonard, Taija Rae, Veronica Hart, Candida Royalle and Beth Broderick.   BA

AA855 Six Swedes at a Pump (80) aka: High Test Girls  aka: Sechs Schwedinnen von der Tankstelle  One of the most perfect English Dubbed and explicit Soft-Core, a way to see Brigitte Lahaie in action without the hardcore.   Brigitte is 25 here, in her prime.   The other girls are fantastic as well.   The wholesome plot involves these Sexy Swedes inheriting a gas station and while the cars are getting filled up outside, the customers fill up the girls inside.   Nod Nod.   Wink Wink.   Nadine Pascal is Inga.   She was the first victim in Jess Franco's 'Sadist of Notre Dame'.   Beautiful print, made more so by the perfect looking girls.   BA

AA921 Accident, The (83) aka: Che Wan  aka: Car Spirit   A toy manufacturer tosses a toy car not meeting the standards of production.   Later the managers of the toy factory run over a little girl and her mother dies in grief.   They will return from beyond for revenge!  Slight Widescreen  Cantonese with English subtitles

AA887 Attack of the Serial Killers from Outer Space (93)  A green-wigged, white-powder-faced mad scientist has enlisted serial killers from outer space to rampage the French countryside.   Caricatures of familiar horror characters come out to play.   What follows is a glorious mixture of laughs and gore as super heroics try to stop this evil onslaught of comedic terror.   Now in French with English subtitles! 

AA920 Baby Doll Murders, The (93) The maniac killer stalks through his POV shots like Michael Myers and has a knack for making sure the women are topless when he kills them.   After he kills them, he leaves a baby doll next to their dead bodies.   The frantic hunt for the killer is led by the voyeuristic Louis (Jeff Kober) and John (John Saxon).   Fits comfortably in the slasher film genre, but more violent and gratuitous with little to no gore.   Also starring Bobby Di Cicco, Melanie Smith and more.  

AA859 Beasts, The (80) Violent rape and revenge flick that shocked people to the core back in the day.   With these possibly inbred and retarded degenerates and their primitive lack of humanity being dealt with not with wasted rehabilitation, but brutal swift justice.   As it should be.   Presented here the way intended.   The XXX inserts in the other prints under the title 'Flesh and Bloody Terror' are well (ahem) inserted but almost too much for the flow of the film.   This is a fantastic uncut print of the feature as it was originally intended and with English subtitles.   Of course, the altered version is also available if you want it.

AA845 Blind Cat, The (92) aka: Kiriko   This is the story of Kiriko, a blind woman with a sword, and a sixth sense (or something) that makes her an uncanny slayer of bad men.   The film is full of brutal violence, sadistic at times.   Kiriko may not see, but she hears quite well.   If you find yourself in the range of her blade, you will bleed.   Your blood will spray.   Kill them Kiriko.   Kill them all!  A film tough to find in great quality, this print is the only one with English subtitles and the print is a little faded.  

AA870 Concrete-Encased High School Girl Murder Case: Broken 17 Year Olds (95) aka: Joshikôsei konkurîto-zume satsujin-jiken: Kowareta sebuntîn-tachi   Dramatization of a true crime story in Japan about three schoolboys who abduct, rape, torture and then murder, a schoolgirl.   Her demise is slow and harrowing.   The movie is pitch black and extremely depressing, perfect for a night of hopelessness and despair.   No matter how bad you think you have it.   Somebody else has it worse.   The film is told in a narrated style, and we see the story played out.    This film was remade in 2004 as 'Concrete'.   Japanese with English subtitles

AA825 Dead Women in Lingerie (90) It's 1987.   At a small lingerie factory in downtown Los Angeles, the female Mexican workers keep turning up dead, wearing lingerie.   The lingerie designer Molly Fields (Maura Tierney) takes the Private Detective investigating the case to her mother's (June Lockhart) for dinner to hopefully be a shield against the man her mother wants her to date.   It's Eddie (Ken Osmond) from 'Leave It To Beaver!  The psycho?  Mix in an unhealthy dose of political propaganda about immigration, and a fun reveal to the killer's identity to tie the ridiculous message together.   Tierney reveals one boob in the last half hour.   Freeze it and frame it!  Also with Dennis Christopher, Jerry Orbach and Lyle Waggoner.  

AA971 Faces of Torture (88) Black and white footage (sometimes grainy) of old disasters, and some obscure tragic footage, and completely unrelated observations and clips, narrated by some backwoods guy ( is it him singing that song?).   This was made to try to cash in on the 'Faces of Death' series.   The faces of torture will be your own.   One star for Marilyn Monroe look-alike rubbing her tits with an apple.   I'll bite.   Crash scenes, train wrecks, cheap synthesizer music.   Are you going to drink the Kool Aid they ask.   Yes please, make mine a double.    BA

AA964 Fascination (79) Hot sexy women (including Brigitte Lahaie as 'Eva') lure men to their castle for midnight blood ceremonies.   Incredibly memorable scene of Brigitte Lahaie stalking a victim while carrying a large scythe.   Fascination has some similarities to Jose Ramon Larraz's 'Vampyres'.   Slow-burning, atmospheric, haunting French countryside's that transmit a lingering feeling of dread, directed so ably by one Jean Rollins.   Widescreen   French with English subtitles  BA

AA857 Killers Are Our Guests (74) aka: Gli assassini sono nostri ospiti  A man (the doctor, played by Anthony Steffan)) and a woman held captive in their own home by criminals who have just robbed a bank, one, a hot lesbian (or is she?), another, shot and wounded.   Can the doctor help? Will the doctor's jaded hot wife give it up for the villains? AA786 Beyond Mombasa (56) aka: Black Mamba  aka: Oltre Mombasa   Drinking, womanizing Matt Campbell (Cornel Wilde) travels to East Africa in his quest to discover the cause of his brother's death.   There in the jungle, along with Ann Wilson, (played by Donna Reed, her character at first repulsed, and then attracted to Campbell's manliness) they experience encounters with the savage leopard men, and a sanctimonious missionary.   On expedition to find the uranium mine, a pre-Dracula Christopher Lee, (playing a shady Frenchman), is damn near devoured by a large plastic crocodile complete with snap-action jaws.   The fated doom of one character is especially satisfying in the film's final moments.   BA

AA821 Lady Chatterly (93) Parts One and Two: Updated version set right after WWI.   Lady Chatterly (Joely Richardson) is young and hot.   Her husband Sir Clifford Chatterly has returned from the war, and now is no longer able to perform sexually, and really, he's just an all around loathsome guy anyway.   Lady Chatterly spots manly man (and groundskeeper) Mellors (Sean Bean) and in no time they are going at it like teenagers in heat.   The thing is, he is of different blood, and considered 'lower class'.   This is Ken Russell's FOUR part adaptation of the D.H.  Lawrence novel.   And quite simply, the best version out there.  

AA822 Lady Chatterly (93) Parts Three and Four: Ken Russell's epic continues with more sex and intrigue.   The period detail is incredible, the outside settings look like a place you would like to visit.   Russell takes his time, really letting the characters glow.  

AA869 Long Distance Piano Player, The (70) The Piano Player Pete (played by Ray Davies of 'The Kinks') has problems with his wife when he undertakes a 4-day piano playing marathon in this film scripted fairly straightforward by Alan Sharp, who was inspired by the story in 'They Shoot Horses Don't They?'.   Pete has other problems as well as he enters to non-stop play with a breakdown maybe in the works.   Ray Davies works out his kinks.    Play for a Day

AA937 War of Children, A (72) Belfast: Northern Ireland 1972: Two families, one Protestant, one Catholic, find their friendship turned into hostilities during a country internally conflicted with the IRA and bombs left on doorsteps.   As the sectarian violence escalates the men do not return home, and the children are traumatized, something bad men with cruel intent never considered.   There may be a shred of decency amidst this sea of calamity if you look for it, although this heartbreaking story pulls no punches.   Jenny Agutter at twenty stars, also Vivien Merchant and Anthony Andrews.

AA755 Benny Hill Down Under (77) Hill goes to Australia for one hysterical special.   The parodies that unfold would have him arrested in England today.   Mostly sight gags, but a damn shame a Frenchman dubs French audio over the English.   Still, the cherry bit gave me the giggles, and I sure appreciate his fervent irreverence to good taste.   The man never grew up, and I like that.

AA758 Dynamite Brothers, The (74) aka: Black Belt Brothers   Chinese kung-fu pro helps manly black Stud Brown (Timothy Brown, a sort of low-rent Jim Brown with a Tom Jones attitude).   Blaxploitation meets martial arts, dirty cops, drug dealers and unintentionally hilarious fight scenes.   When Stud Brown serenades the mute girl Sarah (played by Carol Speed)...   Carol Speed was 'Abby' in the black version of 'The Exorcist'.   Also with Aldo Ray and James Hong.   BA

AA756 Hear No Evil (82) aka: City Dragon   Dragon (Gil Gerard) made deaf in a fight, goes after a biker gang.   The bikers are the pull of the film, comprised of the gorgeous Raven De La Croix as 'Candy Burns', the motley 'Garrard' played by Wings Hauser, 'Bobby Boy Burns' acted so menacingly by Brion James, 'Blackman' featuring reliable biker-player standby Mickey Jones, and Vinnie played by the villainous-looking bad boy of 'Savage Streets' Fred Dryer.   Thank god this is not the Marlee Matlin film with the same title.   Also starring Mimi Rogers, Christina Hart and Bernie Casey.   The print is a bit banged up with foreign subtitles, but is in English language.   BA

AA781 Promises.....   Promises!  (63) Jayne Mansfield stars along with Mickey Hargitay in this shipboard sex farce.   Sandy (Mansfield) and her friend Claire (Marie MacDonald) are both trying to get knocked up.   After a night of drunkenness, both women find out they are pregnant, and the search is on for the father of each.   Brief Jayne Mansfield nudity.   MacDonald would die of a drug overdose in 1965, her husband Donald F. Taylor, the producer of this film, killed himself two months later in 1965.   Mansfield of course in a road wreck in 1967.   Tommy Noonan who plays Jayne Mansfield's husband in this, died in 1968 from a brain tumor.   Shew!  BA

AA926 Running Away (89) aka: La ciociara   Remake of the tragic 1960 film 'Two Women'.   Both the original and this remake starring Sophia Loren.   Cesira (Sophia Loren) is a widow who tries to reach her mountain village home with her distraught daughter (Sydney Penny) during WWII Italy.   The journey is beautiful and also, perilous.   The grim realities of men will be manifest in a tragedy of gang rape.   Sophia Loren is fantastic in both versions.   Both available.  

AA775 Seven Golden Men (65) aka: 7 uomini d'oro  Quite the spectacular caper film made all the more believable by the outstanding cast.   Some watch the modern 'Ocean's 11' (or whatever) crap, I'll stick with this.   The planning and execution of robbing a gold depository in Switzerland.   Twists, giggles, smart (and not-so smart) criminals, kitsch technologies (flying jetpacks!), greed and of course the soundtrack, an original score for the film, a highly sped up musical theme.   It's a daylight robbery in Geneva, and you really want them to pull it off!  Philippe Leroy, Rossana Podesta, Gabriele Tintin and more star.   English Dubbed Color Print!  BA

AA922 Before and After (79) Carole Matthews (Patty Duke) puts on the pounds and her husband Jack (Bradford Dillman) leaves her.   Carole decides to take off the blubber, and joins with fat happy friend Marge (Conchata Ferrell) and slim but wanting to be slimmer Penny (Barbara Feldon).   They attend a 'Weight-Watchers' styled group.   If you really look at her though, Carole isn't even really fat!  A made for television movie about the effect of food and weight on women.   There is an exercise montage and Penny gets hooked on pills and collapses.   Valley of the Dolls Who Eat Too Much? 

AA761 Border Cop (80) aka: The Border U.S.A.  aka: Un Flic de Choc  Hard-boiled Frank Cooper (Telly Savalas) struggles with his job as a US Border Patrol Agent and the fine line of empathy for border jumpers versus the strong arm of justice.   His boss (Eddie Albert) is corrupt.   Some good action, the opening chase sequence alone will put you at seat's edge.   A bit of propaganda here, luckily violent and distasteful at times, mixed with Telly going renegade, makes it worth it.   Hard-edged.   Also with Michael V.  Gazzo.   BA

AA958 Brenda Starr (76) Jill St.  John is the intrepid comic strip newspaper woman Brenda Starr in this campy outing.   On a hot tip, Brenda travels to the Brazilian jungle where she will encounter voodoo, extortion, and the supernatural as she tracks down an eccentric billionaire.   A cast of familar faces  move things along entertainingly with Victor Buono, BarBara Luna, Torin Thatcher, Marcia Strassman and more.  

AA818 Capone Behind Bars (89) Michael Rourke (Keith Carradine) of the Treasury Department is determined to get Al Capone placed in the new prison of Alcatraz.   Capone (Ray Sharkey) is restless, at the end of his reign, but spends most of the film a free man.   Some historical happenings of the well-displayed era are played out, with a bit of fact twisting here and there.   Drug taking, needle sharing Ray Sharkey playing Al Capone dying from syphilis mirroring his own terrible demise from AIDS in 1993 at the age of 40.    BA

AA801 Clipper Ship (57) Playhouse 90  Starring Steve Forrest, Paul Fix and Jan Sterling.   Boston: 1849.   The attractive widow (Jan Sterling) of a shipping magnate falls in love with political prisoner (Helmet Dantine) who has been sentenced to death once they reach their destination.   Print is faded.

AA799 Comedian, The (57) Playhouse 90   Directed by John Frankenheimer.   Co-written by Rod Serling.   Starring Mickey Rooney as a hot-headed egomaniac comedian who abuses his staff.   He is relentlessly mean to those he considers 'lower'.   His weak-willed brother (Mel Torme) gets the worst of the treatment as his whipping boy.   Mickey Rooney is amazing in this playing against type.   Kim Hunter also stars.   Written by Rod Serling.   Print is faded. 

AA932 Double Exposure: The Story of Margaret Bourke-White (89) Born in 1904, a female photographer with a lens for perfection fascinates famed 'Time' magazine publisher and he assigns her to cover world events.    Margaret begins an affair with Erskine Caldwell (Frederic Forrest).   Margaret covers the Depression, the Second World War, the Holocaust, Famine, the Korean War, Ghandi ...   finding a stronger passion for her work than anything else.   The film puts the cheese in the cheesecake as they capitalize on the beauty of Farrah Fawcett, distracting, detracting from the serious subject matter at hand.   Worth a look because most of it is true.   The brave and adventurous Margaret Bourke White died in 1971 from Parkinson's disease at age 67.

AA871 Face of a Stranger (91) Pat (Gena Rowlands) has been living large.   Furs, shopping, high society...   a socialite.   Tyne Daly is Dollie Madison and she doesn't work at a bakery.   She is homeless, loaded with wisdom (and trouble), befriended by Pat.   Pat finds herself an impoverished widow after her husband dies as he sits there watching television.   Pat becomes all too willing to try to help the less fortunate Dollie.   Also starring Harris Yulin and more.  

AA867 Face of Rage, The (83) At a crisis center, a victim of rape (Dianne Wiest), unable to cope with the rape, agrees to meet face-to-face with hardened rapists in a new experimental therapy idea.   Sessions of rage?  Dianne Wiest's character, and other raped women go to the prison, and get to talk to the rapists and ask personal questions.   Lots of familiar faces turn up like John Goodman, Danny Glover, Graham Beckel, John Glover and more.  

AA800 Fast and the Furious, The (54) Colorized!  A man on the run (John Ireland who also directs) kidnaps a lovely woman driving a sports car.   After back and forth arguing and lots of really fake rear screen projection (while driving) shots, they start to fall in love.   A fill up of gasoline and an oil check comes to $4 at the service station.   They enter a cross country race in the hopes to make it to Mexico.   Watch for Roger Corman as a 'Roadblock State Trooper'.   BA

AA797 Forbidden Area (56) Playhouse 90   Colonel Jesse Price (Charlton Heston sporting an eye-patch on his left eye) thinks he has the answer why B-99 Bombers are crashing or just plain (!) disappearing.   A paranoid 'what if' Cold War scenario.   Rod Serling wrote the script for television from the novel by Pat Frank.    Tab Hunter is a Russian spy with bad intentions.   This is live television, the actors sweating it out adds an intensity not seen today.   Also starring Vincent Price, Diana Lynn, Victor Jory and more.   Your host for tonight's feature, Jack Palance.   Directed by John Frankenheimer.  

AA780 I Bury the Living (58) Colorized!  Robert Kraft (Richard Boone), cemetery director, discovers that by merely placing a black pin instead of a white on any plot of the cemetery map, results in the death of the name on the plot.   Now it is time to pick and choose who lives, and who dies.   The film really wakes up in color, providing an alternate experience.   Managing to convey man's fear of the uncontrollable eventuality of one's mortality.    BA

AA889 Katie: Portrait of a Centerfold (78) Delusional Katie McEvera (Kim Basinger) learns the harsh demanding realities of her career choices.   She thinks things are legit, has been promised she's gonna' be a star.   Instead, she finds herself posed in trashy magazines.   Katie is stalked by drooling perverts who carry the magazine around with them.   The one where Katie is a centerfold.   Katie is taken advantage of by a sleazy producer (Don Stroud).   Also with Terri Nunn, Don Johnson, Kristine DeBell, Fabian, Vivian Blaine, Dorothy Malone and more.   Basinger acts her pants off.  

AA980 Love Lives On (85) Susan Wallace (Mary Stuart Masterson) is 14 and out of control.   In drug rehab, she discovers she has cancer.   So much for getting her off drugs.   Susan falls in love and gets knocked up by her boyfriend.   Like she doesn't have enough problems already.   It's time to get out your box of hankies you babies, you'll need them.   Also with Sam Waterson, Christine Lahti and more.  

AA806 M Station: Hawaii (80) This is the last film of Jack Lord, and the last of anything film or show related that he was part of.   All of his scenes set in the Pentagon, were filmed from a set in Hawaii.   When a Russian sub sinks near Hawaii, the race for salvage begins.   But there is a deadly device aboard the Russian sub!  No unauthorized person can touch it or ....   Kaboom!  Also starring Andrew Prine, Dana Wynter, Andrew Duggan and Jo Ann Harris.   

AA832 Missing Are Deadly, The (75) Dr. Margolin (Ed Nelson) has taken his wacko idiot son Jeff to the lab.   Jeff enters a restricted area and steals some mice from the hazmat suited Dr. Durov's (Leonard Nimoy) experiments.   Dr. Durov has been infecting these vermin with Mombasa fever, despite being told to stop that practice.   The missing are deadly.   Now it is up to the CDC to stop spread of the virus.   The deaths begin.   Sounds kind of familiar.   Kathleen Quinlan and more also star.  

AA796 Monstrosity (63) aka: The Atomic Brain    Colorized!  Right off the bat the movie comes alive in color, the details never really defined before, clearly now seen in sharp colors.   Re-watching many of these old classics in color makes them seem new.   In this tale of an old wheelchair bound hag who funds a mad scientist to drop her brain into the body of a pretty young woman the newfangled sordid goods deliver.   One woman gets a cat brain implanted, eats a mouse and hisses.   There is also the mandatory chained up monster.   Like an EC comic come to life!  The woman are delicious cheesecake.   It will take the actions of a black cat to take this operation down.   BA

AA830 Other Lover, The (85) Novelist Jack Hollander (Jack Scalia) starts getting it on with the doctor's wife Claire Fielding (Lindsay Wagner), who is the marketing director of the publishing company.   What luck.   Awww.   The old plot making cheating on your spouse romantic, with a bit of guilt thrown in to make the characters more human.   Truth be told in 1985 Lindsay Wagner could raise many a man's ....   blood pressure.  

AA770 Poison Ivy (85) aka: Camp Pinewood  Madcap summer camp comedy (made for television) hoping to score ratings by tossing in some of the young stars of the day.   If you liked 'Meatballs', this is right up your camping trail.   Michael J.  Fox and Nancy McKeon start a little romance.   Adam Baldwin is the bad guy.   Robert Klein runs the camp.   Pranks and shenanigans that you would expect from this set-up.   BA

AA772 Pride of Jesse Hallam (81) Jesse Hallam (Johnny Cash) is a poor, functional illiterate coal miner from Kentucky with a very sick daughter.   The family moves to Cincinnati so she can be treated for her condition.   Jesse's wife has died and he realizes he must learn to read and write so he can get a job to support his two kids.   Brenda Vaccaro plays the vice-principle of the high school where Jesse's son attends.   Good stuff.   Inspiring even.    BA

AA798 Requiem for a Heavyweight (57) Playhouse 90  Teleplay by Rod Serling.   Before the big budget 1962 remake, this tale about an over-the-hill boxer came to the small screen with Jack Palance in the title role.   Jack Palance's damaged, simple-minded and sometimes out of control performance certainly pulls the heartstrings.   Rod Serling won an Emmy for the writing (when that was a 'real' award) and went on.   Next stop up ahead, 'The Twilight Zone'.   Also starring Keenan Wynn, Kim Hunter, Ed Wynn and Max (father of Jr.) Baer three years before his untimely death at age 50.  

AA902 Sharon: Portrait of a Mistress (77) Professional woman Sharon Blake (Trish Van Devere) has affairs with married men as she works through the cast of actors towards her not-so-happy ending.   The men however get theirs.   Seems Sharon just cannot commit to any one man, so she engages in potentially wrecking balling everyone else's unrealized fidelity.   Patrick O'Neal, Janet Margolin, Sam Groom, Mel Ferrer, Goria DeHaven and more star.  

AA923 Silent Motive (91) Laura Bardell (Patricia Wettig), a Hollywood screenwriter of scandalous scenarios, discovers that sometimes words can kill.   Now she finds herself in the center of an investigation into some baffling film industry murders.   Things become more clear when she finds herself also a target of the killer.   A serial killer with a silent motive.   Rick Springfield, Edward Asner, Mike Farrell and more star.  

AA798 So Soon to Die (57) Playhouse 90  Anne Bancroft stars in this tale about an ex-soldier (Richard Basehart) who is hired by a shaved Sebastian Cabot, to kill a girl before she turns 25 years of age.   Also starring Torin Thatcher.   Directed by John Brahm the director of 'The Lodger' and 'Hangover Square' and later, 'Hot Rods to Hell'.  

AA950 Stonestreet: Who Killed the Centerfold Model? (77) aka: Chicas de Oficina   Liz Stonestreet (Barbara Eden) is a detective who goes undercover working in an adult theater as she searches for the missing Amory Osborn (Ann Dusenberry), an  heiress mixed up in sordid vice.   Her father is a prominent industrialist, eager to have his daughter returned.   Sort of serious attempted pilot for a series.   Eden is a knockout.   Also starring Joan Hackett, Richard Basehart, Sally Kirkland and Lawanda Page (Aunt Esther!  What a history that girl).   BA

AA759 Talk of the Town (82) This show only ran two episodes.   Hosted by the sexy, sassy Jaye P.  Morgan in Las Vegas.   Racy and unbelievably fun with guest stars including Linda Blair (her newest film was 'Hell Night' at the time), the porn actress Samantha Fox, Rip Taylor, The Unknown Comic does stand-up and more.   A real treat.  

AA805 Without Incident (57) Playhouse 90  In a nod to the 'The Searchers', two wives of slain traders have been rescued from Indian possession.   Now the Captain (Errol Flynn) faces a mutiny of his own men.   Trouble from all sides.   Ann Sheridan (sings 'Greensleeves'), Julie London and John Ireland also star.

AA864 Zagor: The Black Pirate's Treasure (71) aka: Zagor: Kara Korsanin Hazineleri   Super Turkish Hero Zagor (cross Batman/Lone Ranger with The Phantom) and his bumbling assistant Chico must contend with an out of control gang of pirates in the old west.   A colonel, who is unjustly on trial and slated to be put to death, is an old friend of Zagor's.   Zagor must now go from one acrobatic action-packed tumbling conflict to another!  Turkish with English subtitles  BA

AA750 El Señor Tormenta (63) Lucha Libre Mexicano!  Cavarnerio the wrestler refuses to throw the fight, and he is beaten for failing to obey gambling manager Zavala.   Now, Cesar is bribed by one sexy senorita, yes, pressured by the evil Zavala, as Cesar is up against the incorruptible Senor Tormenta!  Of course the tiny-tight-shorted men work out in the gym, and there are girls aplenty to entertain and cheer on the wrestlers.   How I like to envision Mexico.   In Spanish with no subtitles.   BA

AA894 Only Witness, The (90) aka: El enviado de la muerte  aka: El Unico Testigo   Claudio (Miguel Angel Rodriguez) is a killer for hire.   In the open, we see the killing of a powerful mafia boss, carried out by Claudio.   As the film progresses we find out Claudio has a dark past, and maybe his actions are not altogether wrong, but noble.   Action and some grisly and unsettling bloody violence committed by the very man Claudio has been hunting all his life.   Spanish with English subtitles  BA

AA933 I Protect Myself Against My Enemies (68) aka: Dai nemici mi guardo io!   Charles Southwood stars as Alan Burton in this tale of three silver coins that together, reveal the location of a buried treasure.   Saloon brawls, shootouts, jailbreak, bandits  and double-crosses in a greedy game of cat and mouse all across the Almerian landscapes.   One killer goes to church and prays/confesses, but has no problem continuing his life of villainy.   Alida Chelli is quite the saucy dish.   English dubbed, with a message on screen every-so-often.   BA

AA885 Oh!  Susanna (51) The Sioux Indians are savage and out of control, attacking settlers as if it were they, the Sioux, who own the land.   Of course, the settlers have entered the sacred Black Hills territory, where all bets are off.   Rod Cameron is capable as the Cavalry Commander and he competes with Forrest Tucker for the attentions of Lorna Gray.   The massacre at the end is a violent surprise.   Oh!  Susanna is a lower budgeted 'Fort Apache' as you will see.   Filmed in Trucolor.    BA

AA760 Trail of the Falcon (68) The first western to be filmed in the territory of the Soviet Union.   Set in America, the locations they use in Russia are amazing and beautiful.   The white man is after the Indians  land.   Since this is a Russian film made by commies, the Indians are depicted as the good guys, the whites, merciless and greedy, much like modern Hollywood standards.   In the end however, it's only a movie, and delivers some fantastic set pieces, action, and the noble savage fighting for his people and his land is certainly respectable, we root for him.   These Russians do a pretty decent interpretation of an American hoedown as well, with impeccable wardrobe choices.   Widescreen  German with English subtitles.   BA

AA893 Who's Afraid of Zorro? (75) aka: They Call Him Zorro...   Is He?  aka: Ah sì? E io lo dico a Zzzorro!   George Hilton in the dual role in this (sort of) western set in French occupied Spain.   The real Zorro is injured (he's tired anyway) and needs to be replaced.   His successor is unbelievably unsuited for the job (s) at hand.   He dons the mask and tries to tackle the bad guys like a trooper in grand slap-stick fashion.   Also starring Lionel Stander.   Widescreen  BA

AA900 Yellow Mountain, The (54) aka: Nevada Gold  aka: L'or du Nevada   Lex Barker stars in this western made right after his run of 'Tarzan' films.   Two local factions in opposition for mining supremacy.   There's gold in that thar' mountain.   Uneasy alliances will be formed amidst the chases, fisticuffs and stare-downs.   When the frontier flamed with the lure of gold...   and a beautiful woman's unclaimed lips.   William Demarest and Mala Powers also star.   Filmed in Color.   Upgrade!  BA
