AA269               Bigfoot (70) Desperate Bigfoot Beasts need women to mate with.  The beasts tie the amply bosomed babes to a tree, where the woman converse while the hairy ones watch.  There's even a young Satch, learning, with make-up a step down from 'Cha-Ka' on 'Land of the Lost'.  The large Bigfoot however, looks pretty cool.  Businessmen find themselves tied to a tree, next to the girls.  The blonde is lead away to be the bride of the beasts.  Bikers are just some of the characters in the film.  BA

AA273               Dirt Gang, The (72) aka: Desert Biker Angels   aka: I demoni   Bikers kill cops.  Later, shooting a film in the desert proves to be no easy task when the crew is attacked by (the same) bikers who want to have fun with the women.  It's easy to take over the film crew in such a remote, security-free location.  These bikers ride dirt bikes, wear helmets, and sport leather pants.  Michael Pataki (here as 'Snake') is particularly menacing wearing an eye-patch.  Sex and Bikers Violent Classic.  Also starring Paul Carr.  BA

AA229               Hard Ride, The (71) aka: Bury an Angel   Dying in Viet Nam, a man asks his buddy Phil (Robert Fuller) to take care of his motorcycle when he gets home.  Phil finds nothing but trouble back in the states, at odds with not only bikers (who want the beautiful bike), but also, the law.  Fake kick-starting, tits, and late 60's early 70's choppers combine with skuzzy unshaven bikers and a road trip complete with a hot chick (Sherry Bain) who hooks up with Phil.  BA

AA355 Arrest Bulldog Drummond (38) aka: Scotland Yard vs Bulldog Drummond   The invention of a long-range ray that can detonate explosions sends Captain Drummond (John Howard) into action through orders from Scotland Yard after this atomic bomb device is stolen by Rolf Anderson (George Zucco in another incredible villainous role).  George Zucco and a death ray, what more could you want? Also starring Heather Angel.  BA

AA195 Dangerous Passage (44) Oil rigger Joe Beck (Robert Lowery) finds trouble aboard a tramp freighter while enroute to Texas from Central America to claim his inheritance.  Attempts are made on his life, for different reasons.  The crooked captain steers into the rocks and the crew awaits their fate on a sinking ship.....  Colorized.  Missing opening title.  BA

AA241 Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (20) This is the Sheldon Lewis version (made the same year as the John Barrymore version).   A very cool adaptation of the famous story by Robert Louis Stevenson.  Less than an hour, managing to incorporate the suspense and horror in a stylized Victorian nightmare.   BA

AA190 Girl on the Run (53) A couple goes on the run from a phony murder rap, finding refuge in a low-rent carnival run by a cigar-chomping midget.  Carnival settings always a cheap thrill.  Dancing girls and the lot always a place you wish you could be in 1953.  First big screen appearance of Steve McQueen.  Can you spot him? Starring Richard Coogan, Rosemary Pettit and Gloria Saunders as one of the carnie girls.  BA

AA177 Killers from Space (54) aka: Asesinos del espacio   Two versions of this classic science fiction that makes you feel like you are reading a comic book from the same year.  The ping-pong eyed aliens have captured atomic scientist Doug Martin (Peter Graves).  Their invasion plan? To destroy us with giant insects and lizards.  Blown up for the camera, embarrassing even Bert I. Gordon.  Still, some scenes still resonate, and there are many firsts as far as alien abductions go, like surgery on a human.  Color and Black and White versions on one disc.  BA

AA191 Meet Nero Wolfe (36)  A man has a heart attack on a country gold course and it is up to Nero Wolfe to prove it was murder.  There are a number of suspects, and some good deductions.  Edward Arnold plays Nero Wolfe as jolly, drinking beer from bottles, and being attentive to his orchids.  Lionel Stander also stars, decades before his 'Hart to Hart' role.  An eighteen year old Rita Hayworth is Maria Maringola.    Quality not as sharp as usual  BA

AA368 Murder Melody (44) aka: Mordets melodi   A murderer is killing women named Sonja.  The only clue? People heard the singing of the same melody at the scene of both murders, a French cabaret song, sung by a woman.  The police suspect a woman who sings this very tune during her performances.  Murder mystery from Denmark.  English subtitles  BA

AA194 Mystery Broadcast (43) A radio show mystery writer promises to solve a real murder on the following week's program.  When one of the suspects turns up dead, she realizes she is on the right track.  A few spooky scenes include an old dark house and the memorable crying pines.  Above average for this type.  A glitch or two in master print.  BA

AA192 Secret of Convict Lake (51) aka: L'énigme du lac noir   1871: Prisoners have escaped in the Sierra Nevadas.  The one's who evade capture find a small town in the foothills, where women folk seem to be the only people around.  One of the men is here for revenge.  The other's think the real reason is to retrieve stolen loot.  The women are looking good to the men......  Barbara Bates, Gene Tierney, Ann Dvorak and Ethel Barrymore as 'Granny'.  Six women, at the hands of the west's most dangerous outlaws.   BA

AA367 Street Acquaintances (48) aka: Straßenbekanntschaft   Twenty years old and very pretty Erika works hard but is practically starving in her post war apartment she shares with her strict parents.  Her also very attractive friend Else seems to be doing much better.  Else has acquired an older man.  Set in Berlin, a ruin after the war, the city full of women driven to prostitution.  You will see rows and rows of women offering themselves for nothing more than a meal.  A soldier returns home from the war and engages in joyous hopeful reunion with his wife.  But his wife had to sell her body to survive, and she gives her husband the gift of syphilis.  One in every ten women has it, and the police are raiding and gathering the women to stop the disease from spreading.  English subtitles  BA

AA235 Terror Aboard (33) aka: Dead Reckoning   Out at sea a cargo ship encounters a luxury yacht with only the dead aboard.  Dead body after dead body, all killed in unusual ways.  The story about what happened on this voyage of the doomed is told in flashback.  Pre-Code so the film is more intense and unregulated.  Jack La Rue and more star.  BA

AA361 Tombstone: The Town Too Tough to Die (42) One of the first versions of the tale of Wyatt Earp (Richard Dix) and Doc Holiday (Kent Taylor) and their gunfight with the Clanton Gang at the O.K. Corral.  Moves like lightning, tightly paced with plenty of rousing action and tough as nails supporting players.   BA

AA366 Young Don't Cry, The (57) Sal Mineo stars as Leslie Henderson, a boy in an orphanage who finds himself mixed up with a chain-gang convict named Rudy Krist (James Whitmore) who saves Leslie from a rattlesnake.  Leslie owes the manipulative, brawny, morally compromised Rudy, and now....  Subplots galore involving other players with significant stories, including new arrivals for Leslie to potentially mentor and bullies to deal with as well.  Also starring J. Carrol Naish, Gene Lyons, Leigh Whipper and Paul Carr.  BA

AA289 Attila (82) aka: Attila flagello di Dio   Barbarians from Northern Italy, led by the furry-chested feather-brained Attila, head south to plunder Rome.  The film is a satire, a spoof of all that has come before.  Each new adventure is more absurd than the last in an uninterrupted series of gags.  Tony Kendall, Anna Kanakis as 'The Siren'.  A missing link found in the Italian muscle man sword and sandal pantheon.  Nudity, and in Italian with English subtitles  Not to be confused with the film with Anthony Quinn as 'Attila' from 1954.   BA

AA307 Devil and Kate, The (55) aka: Cert a Kaca   Based on a fairy tale.  Most Czech devils are comically incompetent, proven here in this very colorful animation adapted and modified from an old Czechoslovakian fairy tale.  Animated, based on an opera that first performed in 1899.  Runs 41 minutes and has English subtitles

W488 Fair Barbara, The (70) aka: Barbara the Fair with the Golden Hair  aka: Varvara-krasa, dlinnaya kosa   A spoiled prince and a fisherman's son (switched at birth, then switched back without the king's knowledge).  The king was tricked many years ago, his son betrothed to the daughter of a water demon.  His daughter, the sorceress Varvara, desperately wants a human husband from the world of humans.   Russian fairy tale Widescreen  English language dubbed  BA

AA231 Flying Mr. B, The (85)  aka: Gui ma fei ren   A soccer coach takes a pill created by a student in the science lab.  Now he can fly and has the powers of a superman.  While the pills do not have permanent effect, everybody is after a dose, including the soccer team, and gangsters!  Cantonese with English subtitles  BA

AA234 Ga, Ga - Glory to the Heroes (86) aka: Ga, Ga - Chwala bohaterom   From Poland, thoughtful science fiction.   Futuristic space exploration by way of penitentiary space ships exploring strange new worlds.  One man finds himself on an alien planet similar to earth to claim for Earth where he is treated like a hero.  The catch is like something out of 'The Wicker Man'.  Presented with some very dark sarcastic humor.  A world without a flood of unnecessary special effects.  Polish with English subtitles  BA

AA227 Golden Fern (63) aka: Zlaté kapradí   A woodcutter finds a golden fern in the forest that changes into a beautiful woman.  They fall in love, and she gives him a shirt to protect him when he goes off to war, where he is invincible warding off bullets, swords and other dangers....  He falls for another woman, still wearing the shirt....  The film gets even crazier, finally ending on a downbeat note of karma.  Widescreen   Czech with English subtitles

AA286 Gwen, the Book of Sand (85) In some future time, the world is nothing but a wasteland of discarded items we would find in any landfill: rusty bikes, sinks, clocks, beds....   The survivors seem to make their way through this lost desert.  Newcomer Gwen forms a bond with a young boy.  When a mysterious being who stalks the night takes the boy, Gwen journey's into the unknown with the boy's grandmother to find him.  Science Fiction animation in French language with English subtitles  BA

W487 Haytabo (71) aka: Haytabo - Falscher Verdacht  The secret of immortality formula is found by a professor when he discovers it written on an old manuscript.  The visuals are stunning and unusual, the message? To live life to the fullest.  No one lives forever.  In one scene an incredible Elton John song adds to the magic of the moment.  Ulli Lommel (the director of 'Haytabo' and later many horror films including 'The Boogey Man') had a working relationship with Rainer Werner Fassbinder (who has a part in this).  Eddie Constantine and Katrin Schaake (Lommel's wife) also star.  German with English subtitles

AA285 Horus: Prince of the Sun (68) aka: Taiyô no ôji: Horusu no daibôken  aka: La grande avventura del piccolo principe Valiant    A Norse village is protected from an evil ice wizard by a boy with a mythical magical sword.  The boy, Horus, has recovered the sword of the sun from the rock giant Moog, sent on this quest to save his ancestral home.  Hilda, a girl who sings haunting melodies, befriends Horus, but Hilda also hides a horrifying secret.  Anime English Dubbed  BA

AA238 Nights of Lucretia Borgia, The (59)  aka: Le notti di Lucrezia Borgia  aka: Les nuits de Lucrèce Borgia    The beautiful Belinda Lee is Lucrezia Borgia, the promiscuous sister of a virtuous nobleman.  Lucreiza is a dominating woman who makes all of the men around her drool with lust, this magic power keeping them on a tight leash to do her bidding.  Michele Mercier is also on hand, two beauties for the price of one.  The stunning Michele Mercier is still alive in the spring of 2025.  Belinda Lee however would die in California at age 25 in 1961 by car wreck which fractured her skull and broke her neck.  She was riding with Gualtiero Jacopetti the infamous mondo movie writer/director.  Finally with English subtitles!  Widescreen and Great Quality!  Some scenes with French titles in the last 14 minutes.   BA

** Out of the Unknown (1965) All of the surviving episodes spread out over seven discs.                  You will find episodes based on stories by the likes of Isaac Asimov and many more.  Many stories and themes have been used in different variations in hundreds of shows/movies ever since.  Unfortunately the BBC had an archive purge and destroyed many of the master tapes.  These seven discs are what survived.

WW490 Out of the Unknown (65) Disc 2: Time in Advance: In the future you can serve your sentence before you commit your crime choosing from various planets hellscapes.  Guest star Edward Judd.  Come Buttercup, Come Daisy, Come......?: A man is obsessed with his carnivorous plants.  Guest star Milo O'Shea and Jack Wild.  Sucker Bait: A lost colony in the galaxy, a teenage boy the only hope for the new explorers as people start to die.

W492 Out of the Unknown (66) Disc 4 (Season Two Begins) The Machine Stops: In the future, mankind lives below ground, everything needed supplied by a super machine.  A boy lifts the veil of secrecy when he makes his way to the surface.  Lamda 1: See in catalog listed separate, but still part of this disc.  Level Seven: Deep in a bunker, the government is not entirely safe from the end of times wars from above.  Tunnel Under the World: Ambitious science fiction time-loop exploring the pitfalls of aggressive advertising and how it dominates our lives.  A man and wife have the same nightmare...  Is there something being injected into their minds subliminally?

W494 Out of the Unknown (69-71) Disc 6 is in color: The Yellow Pill (a reconstruction with pictures audio/subtitles) A criminal accused of murder seems to know details of the psychiatrist analyzing him regarding his private life.  To Lay a Ghost: Lesley-Anne Down is Diana Carver, haunted by a ghost in her new country house that may want to have intimate relations.  This Body is Mine: A body switch to exchange minds goes horribly awry in more ways than one.  Guest star Jack Hedley.  Deathday: A man decides to kill his cheating wife and blame it on a serial killer known as 'The Kitchen Killer'.  Guest star Robert Lang. 

W495 Out of the Unknown (71) Disc 7: Color - Two Episodes from the fourth season.  Welcome Home: Discharged from the psychiatric ward, Frank Bowers returns home and finds another man with his name in his place.  Not only that, no one seems to recognize him.  A psychological nightmare.   The Man in My Head: Hypnotically controlled soldiers break into a missile base and their sanity is compromised as paranoia breaks out. 

AA233 Polar Bear King, The (91) aka: Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon   aka: El Rey Polar  An emerging king is turned into a polar bear by an unstable bitter witch who wants to be queen.  He has seven years as a polar bear in which time he needs to find a bride, but there are conditions that may thwart his union and destroy his liberation from the witch.  An engaging ride, organic settings with real animals, animatronics, and snowy landscapes.  Movies are better without 100% CGI.   BA

AA415 Clue of the New Pin (61) The shot corpse of a reclusive millionaire is discovered locked in a vault.  There on the table next to the dead man? The only key to the vault.  The gun is missing.  How did a set of jewels end up in the strong room? The only clue is a pin found at the scene of the crime.  An ingenious murder that reels you in to find out how the fiend did the dirty deed.  Paul Daneman and the gorgeous Katherine Woodville as Jane Ardfern.  Widescreen  BA

P114 Clue of the Silver Key (61) Scotland Yard investigates the murders of an alcoholic waiter called Tickler and a rich old blind man named Harvey Lane.  Bernard Lee plays a crusty inspector heading the case of two murders he believes are linked.  Well played and with a jazzy score.  Also starring twice Hammer gal Jennifer Daniel.

AA381 Clue of the Twisted Candle (60) Ramon Karadis's (Francis de Wolff) friend John Lexman (David Knight) is being blackmailed so he advises Lexman to meet up with the blackmailer providing him with a revolver in case anything goes wrong.  Things do go wrong however, and later, Karadis is shit dead in a room with no windows and a steel-lined door which locks only from the inside.  Also starring Bernard Lee -  Widescreen

AA167 Flat Two (62) When a corrupt casino boss blackmails a young female gambler, her boyfriend goes to confront him, and walks in on a 'just happened' robbery/murder in which he becomes one of the potential suspects.  Watch the first ten minutes closely for the set up of this murder mystery.  Nice location footage including various suburban and industrial parts of England rarely seen from 1962. 

AA414 Fourth Square, The (61) A burglar kills a maid while stealing a ring from a safe.  The wife tells the cops that nothing is missing.  The ring was from her lover, if her husband knew, shit would hit the fan.  She asks her lawyer to get the ring back, the trail leading to four other pieces from the same set, all gifts from the burglar to various lovers.  With Natasha Parry, Jacqueline Jones and more.  Widescreen

W496 Green Archer, The (40) Serial  There in the darkened halls of Garr Castle, the ghost of the legendary Green Archer still roams the musty corridors.  Or is he simply an avenger dressed to stop the dastardly Abel Bellamy (James Craven) who is using the fortress as a hideout for his gang of criminal goons.  The Green Archer uses his deadly bow and arrows to halt the murders ordered by Bellamy.  All of the serial clichés and cliffhangers are employed.  The unmasking is a surprise.  Victor Jory, Iris Meredith and more star.  Almost 5 hours!   BA

AA373 Green Archer, The (61) aka: Der grüne Bogenschütze   Valerie Howett (Karin Dor) and her family move to a mansion in rural England.  The estate property next door is owned by Abel Bellamy (Gert 'Goldfinger' Frobe), uncle of Valerie, who is incensed that the place is now occupied.  The Green Archer, a 14th century Robin Hood type figure who terrorized the former lords of the manor seems to have returned, and is shooting his arrows into the enemies of the family while Valerie continues the search for her lost mother.  Beware of the regulation Molotov cocktail!  Dubbed into English

A733 Main Chance, The (64) Potter, an unethical, eccentric millionaire, enlists compromised gambler Michael Blake to smuggle diamonds.  Potter plans a  double-cross after he has used Michael to get the job done.  MIchael has tricks of his own up his sleeve.  Also starring Tracy Reed who was a contender to replace Diana Rigg in 'The Avengers' before Linda Thorsen won the part. 

AA398 Man Who Was Nobody, The (60) Dominating the film is Hazel Court as the smart and witty investigator Marjorie Stedman.  She searches for a man who made off with a jeweled necklace after passing a bad check for it.  Different than usual with Hazel Court running the show, sleek, sexy, smart and sly in various disguises, including a beatnik.  Also starring John Crawford, Lisa Daniely and more.  Widescreen

AA382 Marriage of Convenience (60) Larry (John Cairney) makes good his escape from prison, using various disguises to avoid capture, finally making his way to his girlfriend Barbara (Jennifer Daniel) and discovering that she has married the detective who busted him and put him behind bars.  Widescreen

AA413 Partners in Crime (61) The chairman of the 'Kool Kups' drinks company is murdered.  Inspector Mann (Bernard Lee) of Scotland Yard is surprised how quickly the murdered man's business partner has assumed control of the company and discovers a plethora of boardroom maneuvering, with possible suspects including the adulterous wife (Moira Redmond) of the dead man.  Widescreen

Y331 Terrible People, The (60) aka: Die Bande des Schreckens   Decent entry into the Edgar Wallace collection with a healthy dose of horror.   When a man is convicted and sentenced to death he summons those he holds responsible to his cell and threatens them.  After he is executed, these same people start to die, one by one.  Is this a plan he had in the works before he died, or is he back from the grave? Plays like an early giallo, with gothic settings and spooky occurrences.  Starring Joachim Fuchsberger and future Bond girl Karin Dor.  The Terrible People has parts dubbed into English, and other sequences in German language with English subtitles.  Slightly Widescreen. 

EXPLOITATION FILMS

AA257 Angel of Passion (91) The adulteress is dead, but she is not in hell.  She seems to be in limbo, having a time of death counsel with her 'guardian'.  She is now an emissary of heaven, sent back to earth to enhance the sex lives of others. 

AA253 Country Cuzzins (72) The culture clash between a family of hillbillies and their snobby relative from Los Angeles.  The incestuous hillbilly moonshine horny honeys give us a reworking of 'Beverly Hillbillies' 'Hee Haw' with all of the stuff you were really thinking when that material aired.  Cat fights, tons of nudity, soft-core sex and Rene Bond.  Need I say more? Sort of silly, and not nearly as offensive/sleazy degrading as some of the others.  BA

AA176 Fruit is Ripe 3 (99) aka: Mat to sing suk si chi mat to sin chi  One tempting Angel named 'Peach' is sent to earth to help a boy acquire his dream girl.  Peach descends fully naked in a back alley.  We have God to thank.  Peach is not all that bright, but makes up for it in the 'hotness' department.  Teaching her mark the ways of love does not go the way you would expect.  Cantonese with English subtitles

AA210 Girls Who Play Alone (75) aka: Mädchen ohne Männer   In German Soft-Core.  They don't really play alone though.  There are lesbian romps with nubile aroused young women, one coupling with a first-time strap-on ride.  But they give as good as they get, spreading their tender young legs for lucky men, trying them out after experimenting with themselves and each other.  They are at a school for sex, where they watch their teacher spread her legs and massage her naughty bits, and then later in class, a man comes in and shows the girls his penis.  Remember, they are all 18 or older, so don't get weird.  This borders on the line of hard-core.  F.L.

AA371 Joy: Chapter Two (85) aka: Joy and Joan   Brigitte Lahaie is Joy.  Joy is rejected by Marc, and splits to Singapore with the decadent Bruce.  There in Singapore, she feels trapped by Bruce, and with the help of servant girl Millarca (Maria Isabel Lopez) she escapes the grounds.  Once out, she falls into sexual passion with Joan (Isabelle Solar).  But Bruce's men are about to retrieve Joy......  Listed in foreign language as #N211.  This soft-core is dubbed into English!

AA247 Let's Make a Dirty Movie!  (76) aka: Attention les yeux!   A group of incompetent fools attempt to make a dirty movie.  The set manager is too shy to get any necessary accessories at the local sex shop, so they have to make do with what is on hand.  An awkward funny sex farce with plenty of female nudity.  Made in France and dubbed into English language.  BA

AA440 Beloved and Violent (75) aka: Amadas e Violentadas  Giallo from Brazil!  Leandro suffers from trauma and is unable to relate sexually to women.  Leandro begins to violently murder women, writing about his kills in his successful crime books.  He goes to far when he bashes his secretary's head with a fire extinguisher, and murders her lover (don't feel left out now).  Later, Leandro discovers an orphaned teenager who is being menaced by a satanic sect, taking her to his home, where they fall in love.  Or did he make it all up? AA161 City of the Dead (60) aka: Horror Hotel   Essential Satanic Horror classic with a truly shocking first part followed by a wickedly satisfying tale of the macabre.  A professor (Christopher Lee) advises a student to visit the small village of Whitewood to help with her research paper on witchcraft.  Once there she finds she is a human sacrifice for a coven of undead witches.  Venetia Stevenson, Betta St. John and more star.  Beautiful picture.  BA

AA422 Dante's Inferno (67) Dante Gabrielle Rossetti (Oliver Reed) and his weird morbid relationship with his wife, and his art.  Directed by Ken Russell the film takes us into the realm of the pre-Raphaelite art movement of the late 1800's.  Rossetti falls into derangement and despair, the film is bohemian and downbeat, taking us into an era of artists and the women they shared as they desperately strife for immortality through their works.  Ken Russell was so impressed with Oliver Reed's commitment, he began planning 'The Devil's' with the intent of placing Oliver Reed in the lead role, which he did a few years later, a film so controversial it still offends many well into the 21st century. 

AA154 Escape by Night (53) An abandoned theater in London is just the place to hide out for an Italian gangster (Sidney James).   A drunken newsman (Bonar Colleano) wanting the scoop pressures the gangster's girlfriend to tell him where the man is.  Once he gets there however, he becomes a prisoner of the gangster, sending news stories out through Joey Weston (former child actor Ted Ray).  Also starring Simone Silva.  Directed by John Gilling.   Not to be confused with 'Clash By Night" of 1964 which is also known as 'Escape by Night'. 

AA156 Finders Keepers (66) Cliff Richards and the Shadows go to a gig and find the place deserted.  A bomb has been dropped by mistake and has not gone off.  No tourists, no fishing, nothing, until the bomb is found and dismantled.  Cliff and the Shadows try to help, and manage a plethora of songs.  This may be like a hybrid between a Beatles/Monkees/Elvis film.  Clean cut Cliff never truly clicked in America, but in the U.K. has 150 hit singles.  150!  BA

AA421 Isadora: The Biggest Dancer in the World (66) Ken Russell directs this tribute piece to Isadora (Vivian Pickles) as she goes from one lover, school and cause to the next before embarking to communist Russia.  Isadora browbeat all in her path, devouring men like a preying mantis, consuming herself from the inside out.  This is a different interpretation than the Vanessa Redgrave version, and not nearly as long.  Isadora Duncan died in 1927 when her scarf was caught in the axle of a car.  Strangled at 50.  She lived every day like it was her last. 

AA358 Kisses at Fifty (73) Play for Today   The story of working man of fifty years of age in a marriage that is past it's due date.  Zero passion.  He feels times winged chariot drawing near and falls in love with a woman who returns his affections.  The Oldham Tinkers soundtrack stands out, and sounds like a more toned down version of 'The Pogues'.   Remade in 1985 over here with Gene Hackman and Ann-Margret as Twice in a Lifetime. 

AA201 Love is a Splendid Illusion (70) aka: Bed and Don’t Tell  A London couple cannot help but shag others, sneaking about for the old in-an-out, no worries.  While visiting Italy the jig is up when the secret lover of his cheating wife turns out to be a potential business partner.  His plan to use his wife to get the deal, when he doesn't know she is already involved with the man, is the kicker.  Lisa Collings, Fiona Curzon and more.

AA143 Rebecca (79) A naive self-conscious young woman (Joanna David) marries a very wealthy aristocrat widower (Jeremy Brett).  There she finds a mystery as her new husband remains obsessed with his dead wife Rebecca.  It seems the woman is still with them somehow....  Closest to the Du Maurier novel.  With Anna Massey as Mrs. Danvers.    All four parts on one DVD-R this Hitchcock remake mini-series mystery from England that follows the novel closely.

AA391 Urge to Kill (60) From the director 'Curse of the Crimson Altar' Vernon Sewell.  Walking home after a movie, a young woman is sliced and diced by a killer wielding a broken bottle.  The main suspect is a mentally challenged young man, whose hobby is collecting broken glass.  A red herring?  Other suspects provide more mystery.  Then, another woman is viciously slain.  The killer has a problem with women, an urge to kill them.  Lots of actors here one notable being Yvonne Buckingham who played Christine Keeler in 1963's 'The Christine Keeler Story'.   BA

AA318 Witness for the Prosecution (82) A good remake of a great story.  Leonard Vole (Beau Bridges), married to Christine (Diana Rigg) is accused of seducing and murdering a wealthy woman to get some sort of an inheritance.  When Christine is called to testify, secrets are revealed as the sarcastic and insinuating prosecutor with a malicious glint (played by Donald Pleasence) tears apart her testimony.  Deborah Kerr, Michael Gough and Ralph Richardson as Sir Wilfred Robarts. 

AA276 Yellow Balloon, The (53) Suspenseful thriller set in Post WWII bombed out East End London.  Saddled with guilt after pretty much pushing his young friend to his doom in the rubble after a dispute over a yellow balloon, a young boy is taken under the wing of a man (William Sylvester) who witnessed the incident.  The man will blackmail the child, using him to commit robbery.  Excellent ruined locations enhance realism.  BA

AA311 Acid Delerium of the Senses (68) aka: Acid - Delirio dei sensi   Hippies versus organized crime meets pseudo-documentary in one psychedelic LSD trip.  The movie offers the scene as it existed in Italy at the time as people turn on and flip out, even getting naked and splashing around in a fountain.  Stephen Forsyth (the mannequin maniac from 'Hatchet for a Honeymoon') is spotted along with John Bartha and Humphrey Osmond, the well-known at the time psychiatrist who used and advocated the use of mind-altering drugs and invented the word 'psychedelic' which he introduced to Aldous Huxley.  Italian with English subtitles  BA

AA296 Bimini Code (83) aka: Raiders of the Lost Code   When a young boy disappears in the Bermuda Triangle....  this leads to pretty, fit and athletic women in bikinis swimming underwater.  A lot!  The movie taught me that people can speak underwater (which I'll try next time I go scuba diving).  You can hear what the brunette Sheryl says before she is rescued by blonde Stacy.  The boy had been kidnapped when he was found poking his nose into a drug operation.  The evil Countess Magda von Cress, a viper blonde using the drug money in her search for the lost Mayan Power Stone!  Ridiculous fun, but more entertaining than 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' which you have seen 100 times.  BA

AA255 Bloody Brood, The (59) Shot in sixteen days for $80 grand and still more entertaining than the latest $250 million dollar Hollywood stinker.  Peter Falk (in his first big role) is one of the hoodlum/beatniks named Nico.  Cold.  A sadist punk.  He feeds a messenger boy a hamburger loaded with ground glass.  Nico leads a group of Canadian beatniks, the same group the brother of the dead kid infiltrates, posing as a fellow beater.  Beatnik.  Whatever.  Man, I'm bored with the scene man!  Priceless hip talk, Falk is scary and unpredictable.  BA

AA313 Blue Jeans and Dynamite (74) aka: Bloody Sun  aka: La dynamite est bonne à boire  Jonathan (Christopher Mitchum) signs a two year contract to work in a South American copper mine.  The boss/owner is ruthless and the men are driven hard like slaves.  Jonathan meets and falls for the mine manager's wife Consuelo (Claudine Auger)and plans to bail on this contract and escape with Consuelo.  A dark, gritty film.  Dynamite is the drug in this brutal fight for survival.  Widescreen  BA

AA399 By Satan Possessed: The Search for the Devil (93) The Satanic Panic was still in full swing.  See interviews with some very ugly women as they tell us all of the terrible things they endured in the name of Satan.  Yea, sure.  The only way anyone would ever talk to them is because they made up a pack of lies.  Still, there is other footage, other revelations, other indications of the one true hell and Satan's influence in the world.  Uh, no, this is simply a pandering to the simple-minded and the superstitious.  A fascinating character study with lots of information, most either blatant lies, or just misguided, and no real facts or evidence of anything supernatural. 

AA359 Dangerous Liaisons (59) aka: Les liaisons dangereuses   Juliette (Jeanne Moreau) and Valmonte (Gerard Philipe) are jaded and sophisticated sexual swingers.  Juliette is evil.  They sleep with others and share their experiences with one another.  They have one lock solid rule.  Never fall in love.  Valmonte falls madly in love with Marianne (Annette (Blood and Roses) Stryberg).  How could he not?  Juliette is cute, but Marianne....  holy ...  whatever!  The dangers of promiscuity and open-marriage shenanigans.  Controversial at the time, and banned in England on it's original release.  Gerard Philipe would die of liver cancer before the release of this film at age 36.  Widescreen  In French with English subtitles  BA

AA222 Devil and Leroy Bassett, The (73) aka: Pistol-Packin' Leroy  After daring to free their friend Keema (Codey Bearpaw) from jail, the three not very bright Basset brothers, seemingly led by one Leroy Basset (John F.  Goff), go on the lam.  Keema shot the sheriff and killed the deputy.  A little twist.  At a mountain cabin they rob the family 'Zornes’ of their camper, while the posse closes in.  Also starring George 'Buck' Flower as one of the brothers.  BA

AA400 Dirty, Dirty Jokes (84) Redd Foxx is the host of this raunchy joke collection featuring six of the funniest blue comics around including Andrew Dice Clay, Reynaldo Clay and more.  Remember, this is 1984.  Many young folks will not appreciate this brand of comedy.  However, I suggest putting it on with a group of college kids and then sit back and watch them squirm.  Dirty, Dirty Jokes?  You betcha'! 

AA416 Echoes of Paradise (87) aka: Shadows of the Peacock  An Australian woman named Maria (Wendy Hughes) dumps her husband and three children after discovering her husband is having an affair, runs off and has sex with a Balinese dancer named Raka (John Lone) and doesn't want it to end.  Of course it has to, doesn't it? What's good for the goose.....  

AA153 Future Shock (72) Orson Welles is your narrator as he guides us through the notion that technology is moving too fast for us humans to catch up with.  Pollution is going to kill us all, and gay marriage between two men, apparently comparable to the aforementioned and shocking to 1972 viewers.  Awesome moody Moog-synth keyboard sounds a stylistic forerunner of 'Blade Runner' future aesthetic.  Cloning is discussed as a possibility.  Will we harness technology, will we control societal excess? Orson Welles in his very best harbinger-of-doom voice lays it out for 1972 listeners.  Like a doomy mondo.  All of it wrong except the main notion, technology is moving beyond humans.  42 minutes

AA317 Gang War: Bangin' in Little Rock (94) Degenerate youth in Little Rock, Arkansas.  To simply call them degenerates is not fair.   Hopelessness and despair transcend social barriers so there are gang members of all races....  white, black, latinos...  Rites of passage, a typical day in the life of, death, murder, camaraderie and....  gang lingo/slang defined.  Take notes in case you ever find yourself in Little Rock.  This is the not talked about underbelly of the city.  Around an hour. 

AA319 Glass Cage, The (64) aka: Don't Touch My Sister  aka: Bed of Fire   Set in a smoggy LA neighborhood.  The fragmented opening with the killing of a prowler shows us that this director is not playing by the rules.  Off-kilter angles, Freudian dreams and point-of-view sequences, bizarre settings and jagged cutting, existential dialogue.  Beatniks, a nightmare sequence, several psychologically disturbed characters.....  John Hoyt, Henry Darrow, Arlene Martel, Elisha Cook Jr., King Moody and more.   Not to be confused with the Hammer film from 1955.  This is 'The Glass Cage' from 1964.

The Mind Benders: LSD and the Hallucinogens (67) A government warning film about the dangers of LSD with bizarre visuals.  3. Subject: Narcotics (51) This was a training film for the vice squad/local cops and restricted from the public directed by Denis Sanders who would go on to direct 'Invasion of the Bee Girls' in 1973.  4. Drug Addiction (51) A kid takes a toke and presto magico turns into a drug fiend.  Now he laughing and cutting himself with a pop bottle.  5. Trip to Where? (68) Three sailors endanger the lives of other sailors because they dabbled in LSD and marijuana.  John Beck, Richard Lynch and Timothy Leary!  In 1967 Richard Lynch took LSD and then set himself on fire in New York City's Central Park behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  This gave him his scarred face and a career of sinister villains.  6. Narcotics: Pit of Despair (67) A former classmate turned drug dealer seduces with dope and corrupts a high-schooler (Kevin (Emergency) Tighe) into addiction.  All on one disc! 

AA303 Hey, Let's Twist (61) aka: Balliamo insieme il twist   Chronicles the rise and fall and then rise again of the Peppermint Lounge nightclub.  Don't fix what is not broken the lesson to be learned here.  Joe Pesci's first role, shaking his stuff as a dancer with Sally Kirkland and it was amazing to see a younger Zohra (Let's Scare Jessica to Death) as Sharon.  Joey Dee, The Starliters and more.  Hey, Let's Twist!  Forgetaboutit!  BA

AA149 Hot Month of August, The (66) While in Greece, Jason meets Alexis and Hope.  He hooks up with Alexis, but her older husband is having her watched.  The man watching Alexis however, is also sleeping with Alexis, plotting to turn the tables on the husband so he and Alexis can get his money.  The old guy has a few tricks of his own up his sleeve, discovers the plot, and they both are killed.  Jason is the main suspect, and Hope is his only chance to clear his name.  Doris Wishman took this Greek film, filmed some soft-core scenes, dubbed the movie into English and voila! 

AA232 House of Cards (68) George Peppard is American boxer/writer (yeah right) Reno.  In Paris, Reno stumbles into an international conspiracy involving a movement out to create a new world order.  A kidnapping, a framed-for-murder theme, a web of crime and deception.  The constant universal problems of a superior race wanting to take charge of the world, and us all, and create a global super state mixed in atrocities and murder.  They meet in Davos Switzerland every year and call it the World Economic Forum.  This is a ripping spy yarn with great performances and enticing locations.  BA

AA160 Last Escape, The (70) In the final weeks of WWII, an allied commando team lead by Captain David Mitchell (Stuart Whitman) advances towards a rocket base run by the Germans to abduct a German scientist before the Russians get to him.  Some of the footage of Mosquito aircraft was taken from 1964's '633 Squadron'.  The action sequences/battle scenes are well staged with excellent locations.  Widescreen War  BA

AA356 Love Makers, The (61) aka: La Viaccia   The death of a wealthy patriarch in 1885 sets off an interfamily power struggle.  One son tries to buy the others out, but there is one hold out, Amerigo (Jean-Paul Belmondo).  The real meat of the story is Amerigo's obsession with the unworldly beautiful prostitute Bianca (Claudia Cardinale).  She, and the girls of the brothel, are the lovemakers.  Another prostitute is played by Paoloa Pitagora.  Evil seems to permeate the territory.  Bianca is a woman who cannot feel or give love, only sex.  In Italian with English subtitles  BA

AA221 One-Eyed Soldiers, The (67) aka: Il segreto dei soldati di argilla  The Chief of the United Nations Medical Research Organization is seen hurtling from the high parapet of an ancient church.  Choosing suicide over cooperation with his troubling adversaries.  Before he dies he gasps 'July 18!  The One-Eyed Soldiers!'.  Cryptic.  This is the key to the location of a hidden treasure.  A manhunt, a woman is whipped in the most deadly plot snatched from the minds of evil men.  Enter an American journalist (Dale Robertson) and a beautiful but enigmatic woman (Luciana Paluzzi) who get caught up in the intrigue.  BA

AA200 Passenger (63) aka: Pasazerka  Liza (Aleksandra Slaska) used to be a guard at the Nazi controlled Auschwitz prison.  Now, while aboard a transatlantic passenger ship long after the war has ended, she spots Marta, a former inmate.  We see the past, and how Marta was spared, through Liza's help.  Includes some dark footage of Jews being led to the gas chamber and other holocaust times horrors.   Polish with English subtitles BA

AA295 Raining in the Mountain (79) aka: Kong shan ling yu   An ailing abbot in a mountain temple is advised on picking his successor by new arrivals, some with ulterior motives.  The bad ones are really unscrupulous thieves who scheme to steal the priceless hand-written scroll of Tripitaka from the same temple under the very nose of the abbot in distress.  Sort of an epic, with a slow-handed approach, but when the fights do arrive, they are very well done, fast and furious.  Widescreen  Mandarin with English subtitles

AA427 Revenge is My Destiny (71) U.S.  Army Green Beret Ross Martin (Chris Robinson) has returned home after fighting in Viet Nam where he lost one eye.  His wife is dead the next day, presumably by her own hand.  Ross is not pleased.  Sporting an eye-patch which adds depth to his badassness, Ross goes on a slow rampage.  Revenge is His Destiny.  Sort of like a low-budget 'Rolling Thunder' (which came six years later). 

AA242 Sakura Killers (87) Chuck Conners is 'The Colonel'!  The Colonel sends two fighter-type (but brainless) secret agents to Japan after a stolen research (beta?) tape from a genetics lab.  When ninjas intervene the agents seek training from a ninja master so they can beat the ninjas at their own game.  Unintentional hilarity ensues.  Chuck Conners has the right idea when it comes to fighting ninjas in the open!  Must be seen.   BA

AA287 Shaolin Abbot (79) aka: Shao Lin ying xiong bang  aka: A Slice of Death  International star David Chiang as the popular Chih Shim savior monk of the Shaolin Temple.  He is the judge and the jury.  Fantastic fighting skills and numerous interesting weapons makes for a tour-de-force of mean-monk staff action.  The bad guys dominate the scenes here, especially Lo Lieh's villain.  Widescreen and English dubbed  BA

AA288 Shaolin Boxer, The (74) aka: Fu Jian Shao Lin quan  An evil security squad is dominating the  village.  If Chuan Tai can defeat his opponents in the annual martial arts  tournament, he will have the upper hand on rallying the villagers for a rebellion.  Fight aplenty in this action-packed chop-socky with loud exaggerated sound effects.  Widescreen English dubbed

AA162 Silver Dragon Ninja (86) A black ninja organization is running wild and unchecked dealing in weapons.  A female kung fu cop infiltrates the gang to break it up and bust the bad guys.  If the film seems disjointed the reason is this is two films.  Combining the footage from a police thriller with ninja footage, Godfrey Ho style.  A cut and paste that gets pretty lively with baseball bat mayhem, shootings and dynamite!  English dubbed  BA

AA262 Swedish Love Story, A (70) aka: A Love Story  aka: En kärlekshistoria   Fumbling, stumbling insecure teenage love decked out in leather jackets on moped bikes that go-go in Sweden, clashes with disapproving parents.  They met and fell in love in the most ideal of surroundings during one Swedish summer.  This is there world, their lives, their experiences.  The adults have no idea.  Outbursts of frustration, pop songs aplenty.  A trip back to adolescence.   Swedish with English subtitles

AA169 Take, The (74) aka: Cash   Billy Dee Williams is cop-on-the-take Terry Sneed, arriving in New Mexico to assist a local sheriff.  Sneed is always trying to figure out how to do his job, while still accepting money from the crime syndicates.  Vic Morrow as the sickly kingpin, Albert Salmi is another dirty cop, Eddie Albert as the clueless police captain, James Luisi as a trigger-happy thug.  Frankie Avalon is a surprise as a low-level crook who becomes an informant.  BA 

AA364 To Bed or Not to Bed (63) aka: Il Diavolo  aka: The Devil    A merchant named Amedeo (Alberti Sordi) travels to Sweden for the first time, expectations high for a sexual encounter.  The real star of the picture are the numerous beauties, snow bunnies, including brief moments with the likes of Britt Eklund, Ewa Stromberg, Laila Novak and more.  Amedeo cannot help but stare, his sexual desperation building to failure to launch and bizarre guilt dreams.  Eventually he finds himself at a party for the rich where men don't believe in religion and share their wives.  although, we see nothing of the sort.  Later a car race on a lake of ice is almost the end of Amedeo.  Fantastic, stark, outdoor black and white photography in snow-covered landscapes.  Italian with English subtitles

AA290 Woman of Fire (71) aka: Hwanyeo  Things go to hell in a hand basket when a composer and his hen farmer wife take in a pretty young femme fatale into the household.  Who will be driven mad with shame, past trauma lust and desire?  Korean with English subtitles  Widescreen

AA152 Young and Healthy as a Rose (71) aka: Mlad i zdrav kao ruza   Born in Belgrade, the low-life criminal Stevan Nikolic, enemy of the establishment and all it stands for.  Stevan is heavily influenced by film and movies.  Stevan will rise to power with the help of the police, drugs and sex.  Stevan steals cars, has sex with random women, shoots and kills hippies, commits armed robbery, rioting, provoking law and order, destroying stores, all-out-chaos...  There is a political message here regarding the state of the system at the time.  Because of this, the film was banned in Yugoslavia.  Chillingly, the star Dragan Nikolic as Stevan looks at you the viewer and says how he is 'your future'.  I am afraid he is correct.  Widescreen   Serbo-Croatian with English subtitles

AA320 Adventures of Nick Carter (72) The Big Apple: 1912.  Detective Nick Carter (Robert Conrad) discovers that a colleagues death is linked with the mystery of the disappearance of the wife of a wealthy man.  His friend was shot to death by multiple men.  Digging deeper the danger deepens as bodies of various characters start turning up.  Shelly Winters, Neville Brand, Dean Stockwell, Brooke Bundy, Deidre Hall and more star.  Solid production values and realistic fisticuffs/sparring.

W486 Claws of Iron (51) aka: Tetsu no tsume  While serving in the army, a man is bitten by a gorilla.  Now, the trigger that turns the man into the beast like Jekyll and Hyde is simply alcohol.  When he consumes this drink he changes into a gnarly and ferocious gorilla-like creature who cannot be tamed!  That's a surprise?  Now, our heroic war veteran struggles with his feelings for a virginal church organist, while his wild side has a drink and lusts for a sexy, slutty show girl, who he takes hostage after wrecking the nightclub.  Japanese with English subtitles

AA188 Daddy (87) aka: High School and Pregnant   Dermot Mulroney is the dense-headed horny Bobby who knocks up the whiny, clingy, quite stupid Patricia Arquette as Stacy.  But I pulled out!  How can you be pregnant?  This film was played in some states high school health class.  As far as this type goes, I would call this very realistic to real life.  It's a fucking tragedy.  Literally.  If only they had been more careful.  The ending seems somewhat bleak.  Also starring Danny Aiello, Tess Harper, John Karlen and more. 

AA333 Doctor's Story, A (84) Dr. Zack Williams (Howard E.  Rollins Jr.) is determined to prove Harry Wickes (Art Carney) is playing with a full deck.  The others have given their diagnosis.  The old man is senile they say.  Zack is pressured by his wife to let go, but remains determined to prove that he is right.  The story of aging seen through the eyes of a one who is, and one who treats it.  Also with Anna Maria Horsford, Uta Hagen and Viveca Lindfors. 

AA224 Fairy, Ghost, Vixen (65) aka: Liao zhai zhi yi   Three bizarre tales of fantasy.  1.  A scholar's affair with vixen (fox spirit) affects the future.  2.  A man is betrothed to his beautiful cousin who turns out to be a ghost.  3.  A young man's affair with a 'fairy' the spirit of a rabbit that he saved from a fox.  The embittered fox spirit will have the last word.  When the fox ravages the rabbit, the rabbit looks like a goner.  There is no way the rescued rabbit is the same one.  Magic?  Mandarin with English subtitles

AA258 Flight of Black Angel (91) aka: Devil’s Flight  One of the more competent pilots of the US Air Force (William O'Leary) goes rogue flying in possession of enough advanced weaponry to flatten a small country which he intends to use on Americans.  Peter Strauss as an older pilot and mentor, forced to take on his protégé.  Taut storyline, incredible aerial dogfights.  When good pilots go bad.....  Dark, bleak, better than 'Top Gun'.  BA

AA196 Forgotten Made for Television Volume One (various)  Ransom of Red Chief (75) Joe Spinell and Harry Dean Stanton.  Two con artists are victimized by their kidnapping victim Robbie Rist.  Oh...my...god!  Also with Burton Gilliam.  All the Way Home (57) Black family comes to look at a house for sale in a white neighborhood, which does not sit well with the community.  + Bewitched Commercials (11 minutes rare promos) + Four Star Playhouse: The Listener (56) Sheila (Ida Lupino) plans with her brother to kill her husband with gas leak.  The husband's invalid father, hears the plot.  

AA252 Freckled Max and the Spooks (87) aka: Pehavý Max a strasidlá   Hysterical Austrian comedy loaded with classic monsters.  A young orphan escapes the circus and takes refuge in a gothic castle joining a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein and a strange old woman.  Interesting concept, interesting cast.  Ferdy Mayne, Eddie Constantine, Barbara De Rossi, Viveca Lindfors and Mercedes Sampietro as Elizabeth Bathory, a role she also played in 1987's 'Frankenstein's Aunt'.  Slovak with English subtitles  BA

AA178 Joey Heatherton Spectacular (various, mostly 60's) Not only do you get the Perfect Sleeper commercial, there are scenes and performances galore running well over two hours of the one, the only, Joey Heatherton in her prime.  Heatherton was smoking hot and at the top of her game when it all came crashing down due to her addiction problems and eating disorder.  In the 1980's she had all kinds of 'issues' including a drug fueled assault on her boyfriend with a knife, tax evasion and getting arrested after losing her mind at the US Passport Office in New York. 

AA187 Kid with 200 I.Q., The (83) aka: Inteligencia suprema   Nike Newell (Gary Coleman) is the smart kid, roomed with popular jock Steve (Dean Butler) and looking up to his professor Mills (Robert Guillaume) in more ways than one.  Nike has the wit, but it's hard to adapt with kids twice your age.  Nike sets his sights on a much older girl named Julie (Kari Michaelson).  Gimmie a Break!  Crispin Glover, Rance Howard and Grace Lee Whitney have small roles.  Slightly below average picture.  BA

AA189 Strange Voices (87) aka: 72 Hours  Young college student Nicole (Nancy McKeon) goes full-blown schizo, trapped inside her own nightmare mind.  Once happy-go-lucky, now she hears voices, and the weird music starts playing that may drive the viewers mad as well.  Mom (Valerie Harper) and Dad (Stephen Macht) try to deal with their schizophrenic daughter.  Also starring Millie Perkins and Marta Kristen.  BA

AA146 Time Express (79) This show only ran four episodes and never quite took off.    Jason (Vincent Price) and Maggie Winters (Coral Browne, real life wife of Vincent Price) are the hosts of the Time Express, a train that takes it's passengers back in time to a pivotal moment in their lives to hopefully twist fate.  Guest stars include Morgan Fairchild, Terri Nunn, Jerry Stiller, Vic Tayback, Kyle Richards and more.   Three of the four Episodes look good, the fourth episode only fair.  Two disc set- counts as two selections.

AA186 Under the Influence (86) Martin Sheen, David Janssen, Dick Van Dyke and others have all tackled this role.  That of a hopeless alcoholic.  This time, it is  Andy Griffith.  Noah Talbot, a man who cannot put down the drink, unless it is down his throat.  He destroys himself, and his family suffers as well, especially his son Keanu Reeves.  His other son does standup, joking a bit about the miserable situation.  His daughter is suicidal.  Noah starts spitting up blood during church services.  Keanu drinks beer while Springsteen 'Hungry Heart' plays on the jukebox.  William Schallert tries to get him to stop.  Kenau brings booze to Noah, who is dying and on his death bed.  Shakily, Noah reaches like a junkie for the bottle...  Grim.  Also starring Season Hubley.   Upgrade!

AA264 Naked and Cruel (84) aka: Nudo e crudele   “Docu” that is mostly English language narrated, but some scenes are narrated in foreign language.  Man is chomped on by a fake alligator and other obviously staged “shocking footage”.

AA274 New Guinea, Island of the Cannibals (74) aka: The Real Cannibal Holocaust  aka: Nuova Guinea, l'isola dei cannibali    Filmed in Papua, New Guinea.  A film crew travels to document the cannibal natives in their natural habitat and observe their culture of savagery in this mondo-documentary.  What was supposedly ended in the 19th century when Christian missionaries flooded the region seems mostly undone in the 20th.  Prepare yourself for the essential death rituals, primitive war attire, tribal tattoos, animal killings and of course.....  cannibalism.  An inspiration for Ruggero Deodato to build upon.  In Italian with English subtitles  BA

AA309 Primitive Love (64) aka: L'amore primitivo   Sexy bimbo Dr. Jane (Jane Mansfield) screens a documentary about mating customs around the world to a peer while dodging a pair of horny bellhops who want to get some learning up close and personal with Dr. Jane.  Of course the bellhops are played by comedy team Franco and Ciccio, Italy's answer to Martin and Lewis, or Bud and Lou, you pick.  Sexual Mondo film footage with a wrap-around story involving Jane and the boys.  Mickey Hargitay is the hotel bell captain.  Directed by Luigi Scattini who would later direct 'Blue Nude' and others.  BA

AA268 Sex Maniacs Guide to the USA (93) The film is a mix-up cut and paste 54 minutes of (the best of) three mondo-style documentaries from the father of American Mondo films Romano Vanderbes.  The 'best of' consists of sex-related segments regarding the kinky, sexually deviant and bizarre situations explored in his films.  The title song is performed by 'The Dictators'.  

AA305 Sky Above, the Mud Below, The (61) aka: Le ciel et la boue   A visit to New Guinea in 1959 with six very brave European's who trek 450 miles of unmapped territory to the far side of the island, taking seven months!  They build fourteen bridges, climb above 10,000 feet, are sucked on by leeches, relentlessly bombarded with biting bugs, and infected with malaria.  Some die.  Finally they reach a village and live amongst the cannibals (who keep them at bay, but secretly want to eat them) and learn their customs.   English  BA

AA299 Diabolical Axe, The (65) aka: Santo vs. the Diabolical Hatchet    The filmmakers inspiration for this El Santo addition is clearly Italian horror films of the period, especially Mario Bava, although there is also a time travel technique possibly nicked from Roger Corman's 'The Undead'.  Santo's origin and purpose explained!  Santo not only has wrestling moves, but also magic tricks!  The satanic villain has the ability to pop up anywhere, at any time.  His demon lair where he worships some kind of Bat-God is a gaudy-kitsch-funhouse nightmare.   Finally with English subtitles!  BA

AA363 Dracula Mascafierro (02) Imagine if Jess Franco were in Mexico making a low-budget erotic horror/comedy film with cellulite-challenged babes and cool locations settings.  He would have been right at home.  Wait, now he has to tone down his natural perverted proclivities and Lina has to stay home.  This is what you would get, butt close-ups (one time a male in a hilarious scene) dumpy (but earnest) broads, and low and behold, some sort of mixed up practically incoherent plot!  Watch for the surprise twist in the final moments!    In Spanish -no subtitles

F467 Dungeon, The (93) aka: El Calabozo    Dr. Aburto is the purveyor of crimes, violence and perversity and a monstrous nightmare he has created will accompany him in his hellish descent into 'The Dungeon'.  The opening has lead character rape a woman, and threaten another with his belt, before whipping her senseless as she clutches a baby doll.  He is Gabriel (a sort of Mexican Burt Reynolds 'Miguel Angel Rodriguez').  He awakens in bed covered in blood, his woman laying their with a large wicked axe in her back.  He hides the body in the wilderness.  A man is in a dungeon, a creepy, wigged (and later fanged) dwarf brings him food.  Nightmares escalate.  What is real?   In Spanish only Horror from Mexico

AA392 Night of the Bloody Apes (69) aka: La horripilante bestia humana   aka: Korang, la terrificante bestia umana  A doctor puts the heart of a gorilla into his ailing son resulting in the young man turning into a raping killing beast-faced monstrosity.  Fascinating over-the-top violence and gore horror from Mexico that throws in female wrestling, gratuitous nudity, creepy settings and cheesy gore.  Exactly the kind of film I would have wanted to see at the theater if I had been around in 1969.   Widescreen and Dubbed into English  BA

AA412 Perfect Marriage, The (91) aka: La pareja perfecta  Francisco maintains the perfect life, with the perfect wife, a beautiful blonde (Lorena Herrera), despite his trauma from being abused as a child by his whore of a mother.  Francisco gets his rage out by being a vicious serial killer on the side (in his spare time) because he still has mommy issues.  Francisco lures an office worker into a dungeon-like lair and whips her with his belt before an awkward rape (dry hump?).  He leaves her tied to the wall and as the rats climb on her for their dinner, she screams hysterically.  We see the rats chewing and eating the girl tied to the wall.  Francisco sets his sights on another beautiful office girl.....  Time to feed the rats!  In Spanish only no English subtitles

AA211 Santo and the Revenge of the Crying Woman (74) aka: Revenge of the Crying Woman  aka: La venganza de la llorona   When a medallion is stolen from the corpse of a the crying woman mummy sealed in a cave, the mummy returns from the grave to reclaim it.  Santo battle gangsters and their henchman, while the mummy terrorizes the countryside in search of the medallion.  The medallion is a map to treasure, but the deeper plot reveals the history story of 'The Crying Woman' and the carrying out of the curse when her pact with Satan is violated.  English language dubbed  BA

AA298 Santo vs. Headhunters (71) aka: Santo contra los cazadores de cabezas   Under the full moon, the Indian head hunter tribe of Jibaro are preparing the ceremony of human sacrifice.  She is to be 'the bride of the Sun'.  The victim is a beautiful girl, and our hero El Santo is sent into the deepest jungles of the Amazon to rescue her.  Alligators, jaguars, vampire bats and native tribesmen who launch a monkey into a piranha-filled river.   Spanish with English subtitles  BA

AA228 Throne of Hell (94) aka: El Trono del Infeirno  A female archeologist poking around in an Aztec ruin unleashes Satan himself into the world.  The initial unearthing results in a speedy eclipse and earthquake for good measure.  Never move what the conquistadores have sealed.  They did it for a reason.  The first man falls, foaming at the mouth like he just swallowed a bar of soap.  Later he wakes in the hospital, now possessed, he throws a priest out the window, turning the holy man's cranium into hamburger.  Only the biblical seven seals combined with the sword 'Excalibur' can put an end to what is to come.  Will they be too late?  Spanish with English subtitles

AA144 Violent Rage (71) aka: The Fearmaker  aka: El hacedor de miedo  Sara Verdugo (Katy (High Noon) Jurado) is finally at home after world famous opera performances.  Her father died questionably, her father's dog is baying, attacking and killing in the night.  Sara's manager wants to marry Sara and settle with her inheritance so they can live happily ever after.  Linda is home from boarding school, and wants nothing to do with Sara.  Sara is almost killed, but by who?  Between love and death comes 'The Fearmaker'!  A Mexican Gothic Giallo dubbed into English language.

AA220 She Came to the Valley (79) aka: Texas in Flames  Filmed in 1977, released in 1979.  Turn of the century housewife Ronee Blakley, her long suffering crippled husband Dean Stockwell and their old friend Scott Glenn, who runs guns for Freddy Fender (playing Pancho Villa).  An old fashioned western, with Scott Glenn as the standout.  Freddy Fender does the theme song.  Cinematographer Daniel Pearl and Art Director Robert A.  Burns were more successful a few years earlier with 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'.  BA

AA219 Showdown at Williams Creek (91) British Army soldier (not Blue) Brown (Tom Burlinson) has arrived to try his luck digging for gold in Canada.  The other prospectors are an unscrupulous corrupt bunch, he falls in with bad companions who leave him for dead.  Then, Brown is rescued by Indians, stays with them and finds love with an Indian woman, even having a son.  The story is told in flashback to a court (presided over by a judge played by Raymond Burr) as Brown is on trial for killing one of those 'bad companions'. 

AA331 Terror at Black Falls (62) Filmed in 1959, not released until three years later.  After his son is lynched, a man tries to avenge him and ends up in prison for his trouble.  When he gets out, he goes after the corrupt sheriff, laying siege to a saloon with his henchmen, threatening to kill a person every ten minutes until the sheriff is brought to his knees.  Unusual western with Peter Mamakos, House Peters Jr. and Sandra Knight of 'The Terror' and 'Blood Bath' and later married to Jack Nicholson for a spell. 

AA158 Wind's Fierce, The (70) aka: La colera del viento   The setting is 19th century Valencia.  An unscrupulous and ruthless land owner hires a gunslinger and his brother to kill the leaders of a local labor movement that is trying to turn the people against him.  But the gunslinger Marco (Terence Hill) begins to see things differently, and joins the other side.  English Dubbed  BA
